Manuscript Evaluation

An experienced professional reviews and analyzes your manuscript’s digital file (MS Word or Text) and gives you the feedback you need on any weaknesses and suggests ways to improve your manuscript. You can then make the corrections yourself or request additional editorial services. We use the industry standard of 250 words per double-spaced page to gauge manuscript page count for evaluating manuscripts and for other re-writing/development efforts. (Example: if you have a 50,000 word manuscript, dividing that number by 250 means a page count of 200.)

We charge $2.65 per page for a manuscript evaluation (your work must be at least 10,000 words at a minimum). (If your manuscript file is not already double-spaced to help with readability and review, we will do that in the version we read/review for you.) To calculate your cost for this service multiply your page count, calculated as we show above, by our per page fee and if that works for you please contact us via email, telling us your word and page count and we’ll reply with details confirming pricing, delivery timing of our evaluation report and how to schedule and get started.

Important Note: Please let us know if English is not your primary language or if you are not fluent in it (both verbally and in your writing). This is important because it will likely make reading/reviewing more time-consuming, which requires higher pricing.

100% of the manuscript evaluation service fee is credited towards any additional re-writing/editing work we do for you if you engage our additional help within 15-calendar days of delivery of the manuscript evaluation.

We also offer to credit a percentage of the manuscript evaluation fee if we’re engaged to help you later on (up to 90 days):

  • 75% if engaged 16 to 30 calendar days after delivery of our manuscript evaluation report
  • 50% if engaged 31 to 60 calendar days after delivery of our manuscript evaluation report
  • 25% if engaged 61 to 90 calendar days after delivery of our manuscript evaluation report

Sorry… after 91 days we cannot credit any of the manuscript evaluation fee towards other work on your project.
