Original Content

We write fiction and nonfiction both as an independent author and as co-author/collaborator.

Book Development

Like a real estate developer or movie producer–we help clients take ideas and turn them into something–in this case books.

Screenwriting

We take books or concepts and develop them into properly formatted screenplays for submittal to entertainment industry professionals and production companies.

The above require custom pricing on a project-by-project basis. Please contact us if you have a project you’d like to discuss.

Exclusive Services for a defined period and project are available for a premium fee. Such exclusive service can reduce completion time for projects but must be scheduled in advance; i.e. with sufficient lead-time for Adducent’s planning and scheduling purposes. Exclusive Services require a deposit at time of request to secure exclusivity (the deposit is applied towards the initial payment at project start).

Rewriting & Polishing of articles, Op-Eds, essays or full-book-length manuscripts

As Hemingway famously said “First drafts are crap” … and so they are. We help people rewrite their work. And rewriting is crucial to making the work better.

We can help you polish your writing to create the perfect reflection of what you want your story and book to be!

Basic editing (grammar, fixing typos, etc.) is not something we do as a standalone/sole service because there are editing services that will do it for less than what we charge for what we do. What we do does encompass basic editing functions but is what is called “Developmental Editing”, which improves the narrative (the writing) and flow of the client’s work. Basically we make what the client wrote better. Our rewriting and polishing goes a level beyond and incorporates developmental editing with viewing the project from an author’s perspective to come up with ways to improve what’s been written (and can write new content if applicable and as appropriate in collaboration with the author/client) to make the work stronger and more compelling. Most importantly… a skilled rewriter will improve “readability” which equates to better reader engagement (and that’s the key to building interest in your work and success as a writer and author). Creating quality that will engage the reader and set the hook for subsequent work is critical to build your brand as a writer and author.

We can also take a rough nonfiction/memoir draft and rewrite to a creative nonfiction style, which makes the narrative read more like a novel.

  • “Love it!” Patsy D
  • “Dennis, well, I’ve perused your sites, and ALL you’ve put out there. I must say NOTHING and no one comes close… not even 10% of what you present. [This next is to his attorney who is reviewing my standard agreement]: I have talked to a number of prospects [writers] and none come close to how I feel about, Dennis.” L .M. • “First off, I love the cover. Again your descriptions here were amazing! I don’t know how you do it. It made me feel like I was in the main character’s body. I like how you use more complex language in this piece. And the descriptions are really realistic. Nice job on this piece!!!!!!!!!!” Adrianne Avery

  • “The author has not only created a wonderful mix of fact and fiction, he has created characters that are very believable. It makes you believe the characters in the story are real. Usually this is the part of stories that are missing. The story line is great but the characters are flat. Not so with this one.”
  • “Excellent, as usual, Dennis Lowery!” Pietro Montevecchio
[commenting at G+ on, Night Descending]

I felt as though your choice of words and the way your character was made throughout this piece was extraordinary. I will read some of your other works, and I love the concept of werewolves themselves, so I enjoyed reading this very much! You’re a very talented writer!” Brianna Wilkie

Your writings, on the other hand, seem to have come into my life at just the right moment. • “Your posts embrace universality, and address the human condition as it is. We all need to strive to go that extra mile. One of things, I enjoy while reading your posts, is that you show no reluctance in revealing innermost thoughts. The sense of realism is also present, yet with a seemingly effortless way.” NMJ

  • “This is the first essay I read on Figment.com aside from the typical story variety, and to be completely honest, you have a really amazing talent for weaving inspiration with your words. I’m sure your daughters appreciate the beautiful message you put together for them. I really enjoyed the rawness in your tone throughout this essay. It was heartfelt and captured the message with a polished simplicity that is very rare in writers today. I really appreciated that aspect of your writing. The only critique I have is that I have nothing negative to critique about! And I guess that’s a good thing! Overall, bravo! I honestly enjoyed this, and I hope to read more of your writings and stories.” :)))))) Miss J.

Such words can only come from a creative soul; so sensitive and able to sense the effects, and strong enough to be able to transform them into some cohesive form. Kudos to you Dennis!! And thank you so much for stringing the lines you so beautifully dotted.” Nina M.
